The Northwest Food Coalition is hosting their annual Empty Bowls fundraiser - this luncheon event benefits their Farm2Neighbor program which raises funds to purchase fresh, local produce and proteins for over 75 area food pantries and meal sites across six counties in the northwest Michigan region. This event typically brings in over 600 attendees and is the largest fundraiser for the Coalition.
We are looking for volunteers to set-up the event on May 2nd (12:00pm ~ 4:00pm) and volunteers during the event on May 3rd (shifts between 10:30am - 4:00pm).This year, we are bringing the focus to our local farms in the region who help build up our communities and will have family-friendly exhibits at our event that showcase how farming inpacts our area.
Volunteers day-off will be provided with lunch off of the soup buffett and can take home an artisan bowl. Volunteers for set-up will be offered a ticket if they wish to attend the event the following day. Volunteers can sign up through the link on our website: https://northwestmifoodcoalition.org/volunteer/.
Please reach out to Rachael Cougler DeVriendt at coordinator@northwestmifoodcoalition.org with any questions.
